Ekiti Digital SkillUp Program Concludes with Certificates, Awards, and Empowerment

On May 11, 2025, the Ekiti Digital SkillUp Program reached its grand finale with a prize-giving and closing ceremony at RCCG Region 25, Ado-Ekiti. What began with 531 participants in March culminated in a moment of recognition, empowerment, and celebration of resilience.

Certificates of Completion

Out of 531 trainees, 59 participants successfully earned Certificates of Completion. This milestone was achieved despite the unique challenges of a fully virtual program in Ekiti State.

Why 59 out of 531?

  1. Device challenges: Many lacked access to laptops or functional smartphones.
  2. Internet & power issues: Unstable connectivity and electricity disrupted learning.
  3. Motivation drops: As with most online programs, attrition over time is expected.
  4. Academic clashes: Several participants had school exams (e.g., EKSU, BOUESTI) during the program.

While this number may appear modest, an 11%+ completion rate is above the global average for free online courses. Statistically, the Ekiti Digital SkillUp Program is a success story—proof that determination can overcome barriers.

Recognition & Awards

To honor excellence, participants were celebrated in three award categories:

  • Kingdom Ambassadors Award – Outstanding achievers who excelled in learning and project delivery.
  • Trailblazers Award – Rising stars who showed creativity and consistency.
  • Builders Award – Dedicated participants who built strong foundations for growth.

Each award came with empowerment gifts such as power banks and flash drives—tools to keep participants digitally connected and productive.

Closing Ceremony Highlights

The ceremony was graced by the leadership of RCCG Region 25, who presented certificates and prizes to deserving participants. The presence and support of the church underscored the shared commitment to equipping young people with practical digital skills for today’s world.

Looking Ahead

The Ekiti Digital SkillUp Program has proven that with the right partnerships, digital inclusion is possible—even in regions where power, internet, and devices remain a challenge. This is only the beginning. Omnific Works, in partnership with stakeholders like RCCG, is committed to scaling this vision—empowering more young people across Nigeria with future-ready skills.
